Join us for a kintsugi workshop which will teach you to mend/repair broken items with the philosophy of embracing the flawed or imperfect.

Kintsugi (金継ぎ, "golden joinery"), also known as kintsukuroi (金繕い, "golden repair") is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. This philosophy embraces the flawed and imperfect; that breaking is part of the history and value of an object and an opportunity to create something beautiful instead of discarding. In this workshop you can bring your own items for repair or we will have items available for a higher price point. All supplies needed for the mending and repair will be provided. Hosted at The Rope Collective studio in Barrio Logan.
