What is The Duck & the Goose?
A community of friends united by their shared commitment to the gospel, the church, and the advancement of the Kingdom of Christ, The Duck, and Goose fosters meaningful connections. Originating in 2004 with three seminary students living near the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the house quickly grew from 3 to 9 occupants, eventually adopting a pet duck and goose. Inspired by their summer study in Oxford, England, the house earned its distinctive name reminiscent of iconic establishments like The Eagle and Child and The Swan and Castle.
The Duck and Goose transcends its humble beginnings; it has evolved into a thriving network that extends beyond the original occupants. After the founding members graduated from the seminary, the house continued to serve as a hub for students, with over 100 seminary students living there to date. This vibrant community hosts a bi-annual summit and regular pastors' calls, providing a platform for church leaders to engage in thoughtful discussions on pressing theological and cultural issues.
