King Biscuit Week - Thursday's music, picnic & conversation
Sunshine and the best blues: Superchikan, Jock Webb & Mark 'Muleman' Massey talk Blues on "The Farm," and Jimmy Duck Holmes, LaLa Craig...
Southern-Style Picnic & Blues: Thursday of King Biscuit Week
Warm up outside and dance barefoot all day in the Hopson courtyard. Enjoy our picnic brunch or BYO for the best of Mississippi blues with: LaLa Craig, James "Superchikan" Johnson, Mark 'Muleman' Massey, Jimmy Duck Holmes, and Arkansas Brothers' Tim Hoggard & Bowlegged Rooster.
Blues on "The Farm" panel, noon: Superchikan, Jock Webb & Mark 'Muleman' Massey share their experiences from Parchman Farm to their own present-day work on local farms. Mark is getting the Parchman Band back together by day and tending his mules at night. Jock is doing incredible work with Southern and black farmers, and Superchikan is working with Delta farmers when he's not touring worldwide. We'll explore connections between blues and farming -- past, present, and future... while onstage at Hopson's historic farm.
That stage? It's a historic cotton bin, in the 'Cotton Boll Court.' There are some chairs and tables, and plenty of lawn. Bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and your dancing shoes.
Proceeds support the festival -- thank you!
All official #LiveFromClarksdale King Biscuit Week tickets are on Eventbrite.
