Kinesiotaping Certification Course
Overview
Kinesiology taping is a widely used technique for sports medicine and therapy with purposes including but not limited to: pain relief, support and stability, improved circulation, and proprioception.
This course is designed for PTs, PTAs, OTs, and OTAs. Participants will learn the physiological effects of kinesiology tape, proper tape applications, and utilization for specific deficits and diagnosis. The interventions will cover orthopedics, neurological, and pediatric cases.
Upon completion of these courses, participants will receive their kinesiotaping certification and be able to:
· Explain the physiological effects of kinesiology taping
· Describe contraindications and precautions for kinesiology taping
· List cut types for kinesiology taping
· Design a treatment program using kinesiology taping
· Explain rationale for using kinesiology taping
*80 percent of the course will be spent in a lab setting with clinical application. Lab Attire is necessary. Taping and tools will be provided
**16 CEU Hours will be provided for attendance
Heath Martin, PT, DPT and Adjunct Professor will be the clinical instructor for this certification course.
