Kimonomomo's Basic Sashiko

Located in downtown Alameda, the Kimonomomo Studio is a little piece of Japan in an old Victorian home.Carol Ziogas, owner of Kimonomomo LLC and theardentthread.com, has been working with kimono and Japanese textiles for over a decade and would love to share with you the Zen of Sashiko, put Play into Applique, and help you find your creative spark.

Yes, "It's just a straight stitch" but sashiko is so much more. Sit a while and play with thread, fabric, needles, and let your creative juices flow. Templates, tools, and materials will be provided, just bring scissors and a straightedge (there will be a few extra on hand). 
The ReCrafting Co. is located just off Park Street in downtown Alameda, CA. There is ample parking in the area and on Sunday it's free, so take your time and enjoy lunch before class starts, or dinner after.
