Kiki Weekender Workshop

Join us for a one day session where we'll sew the Kiki Weekender from Daughter Judy. Taught by Abby Wheeler

This class will be in person at Capital Fabric Supply at 63 Broadway in Kingston, NY

Date & Time : Sunday April 26th from 1 - 5pm

Cost : $80, pattern included, students are responsible for purchasing their own fabric. Sewing machines provided.

Experience Level : Beginner / Advanced Beginner. Must have some experience and knowledge of how to use a home sewing machine.

Age Recommendations : Adult, 16+

The Kiki Weekender

This is the ultimate "I'm just throwing a few things together for the weekend" weekender. The present fold adds shape and the open top design means no zippers to break and no flaps to fiddle with. Wide shoulder straps that don't dig in no matter how recklessly you've packed. It's the perfect bag for escaping the city, crashing with friends or simply avoiding your inbox from a new zip code.

Beginners or above welcome; please come with some knowledge of and experience with a sewing machine. This will be a quick and satisfying sew letting you walk away with a confidently completed bag. We will use the straight stitch for construction.

We recommend mid to heavy weight nylons, canvas or twill. Fabric yardage should be purchased and pattern cut out by participants beforehand. We will have basic thread colors available but if you're wanting an exact match you will need to bring or purchase. You can come slightly earlier to use our table to cut if needed but please note that space is limited.

As always we offer a 10% discount for those participating in the workshop and have an abundant array of fabrics that would be suitable for this project!

The pattern will be sent via email 10 days before class.

Cancellation Policy : It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot in such small groups though we understand life happens, people get sick, things with kids arise, etc. Please read this policy thoroughly before booking as we will not be able to make exceptions as a small, independently run business.

If you can, please provide at least 72 hours notice so that we can try to fill your spot. You will receive a gift card of the purchased amount that can be used towards future workshops or in store purchases.

If you can not provide 72 hours notice or you do not show up to the workshop, you will not be eligible for any store credit.

PARKING

Parking on Broadway is metered while parking off Broadway on side streets is free so we suggest the latter.
