Kids Machine Sewing - 3 week course
This 3-week after-school course is ideal if your child or teen is interested in machine sewing but doesn't have the confidence or basic skills to get started. Here, our experienced sewing teacher, Lauren, will teach the basic techniques, and students will make a drawstring bag and a personalised appliqué cushion.
Includes threading and setting up a sewing machine, different stitches, hemming, appliqué, and making and joining pieces of a simple pattern. This is based on learning on a machine you own, but if you don't have one, no problem. We have a pool of typical entry-level machines available to hire for an additional £8 for the whole course.
Max 6 students and runs on a weekday evening 4.45pm - 6.15pm at our Staple Hill studio. This is a drop-off course, but a carer may stay if that works better with your child. Just let us know so we can plan the layout. Suitable for children 9 years and older.
We also run follow-on 3-week courses, which are a great way to continue learning and practising the sewing skills learnt in the beginner course.
