Overview

‘Khwab-e-Rafu’ (Dreams of Mending) is a cross-border feminist textile art project inviting people from the South Asian diaspora

Join art therapist Savneet Talwar & teaching artist Sabba S. Elahi to embroider your dreams of a repaired, peaceful, and just future! We invite participants from the South Asian diaspora to participate in Khwab-e-Rafu (Dreams of Mending), a feminist textile art project in partnership with Rufunaama (New Delhi, India).

Drawing on rafu, a traditional darning practice, the project uses visible mending as both metaphor and method for repairing the growing divides across our nations and borders. This collective artwork will be exhibited in Delhi in August 2026, marking the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Partition. No prior embroidery experience is required. Come, join us,nd bring a friend if you like.
