ABOUT ASG:ASG programming stands out because of our drive to provide emerging and mid-career artists with opportunities to take great risks and, in so doing, engage viewers in new and dramatic ways. ASG encourages bold projects of this kind, and then helps make them possible by enlisting the team’s technical knowledge in service of the artist’s vision. Each year since our launch in 2011, ASG has produced 5-6 solo exhibitions, 2-3 group exhibitions, and a number of special lectures, film screenings, literary events, and performances. We also provide a public platform for films, lectures, and performances by innovative regional artists and thinkers whose work ignites deeper engagement and discussion.

Join us for the Opening Reception of Khamsa, a healing musical and visual journey with ARTogether and GAMA: Gathering All Muslim Artists.

Join us for the Opening Reception where we will hear from Lead Artist Guled Muse, and visual artists Zara, Fahd Butt, and Meriam Salem on their exhibited works.Khamsa, the Arabic word for “five,” is a multimedia art exhibition showcasing twenty Muslim, Black, Immigrant, and/or Refugee visual artists and musicians traversing the five stages of grief.Weaving both personal and universal experiences of loss—from the personal pain of losing a loved one, to the toll of Islamophobia and prejudice—Khamsa is a project to find harmony in our shared stories, bridging differences in cultures, beliefs, and history. Khamsa gathers us across cultures to connect, bear witness, receive permission to tell our own stories, and heal. All proceeds will directly support the artists and cultural workers of Khamsa.
