Uncertainty serves as a constant variable, compelling us to create firms that stand resilient amidst ever-changing economic conditions, workforce factors, and client needs. Whether your firm has a five-year legacy or century-long history, resiliency is top of mind in today’s economy. As trends in the built environment change, we must adapt.


Education: This course has been approved for 1.5 LU.

Cost: The course is free for AIA members and $25 for non-members.

Parking: There are several parking lots and on street parking nearby.

Attendance is limited to 30 participants and registration is required.


Presenter: Kate Allen, PE, MBA - Director of Strategic Growth Advisory, Stambaugh Ness

Kate’s 25+ years of experience in the AEC industry includes leadership roles as a Consultant, Principal-in-Charge, MEP firm Co-Founder, and National Engineering Director. Kate’s passion is positioning firms and individuals for the future with a strong focus on growth and transition strategies, business improvement initiatives, as well as training on business and leadership skills.

A registered Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Colorado, and an MBA degree from the University of Denver. She is actively involved in ACEC National as well as ACEC Colorado where she is a member of multiple committees. Kate has been an adjunct professor at the University of Denver in the Daniel’s School of Business, teaching both undergraduate and MBA courses.

Kate draws from her unique educational background as well as her experiences as an engineer, educator, entrepreneur, industry consultant, and business leader in her consulting work. Kate is a certified Gallup Strengths Coach as well, and applies her people focused approach to her consultancy.

Refund policy: Registrations may be transferred up to 24 hours prior to the event by contacting rylee@aiacolorado.org. Registrations cancelled 7 days or more in advance will be refunded 50% of the registration rate. Refunds are unavailable within 7 days of the event.
