How does this event benefit survivors of domestic and sexual violence?

This event is hosted by AWARE and 100% of the profits go to the organization. AWARE is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Jackson, MI. AWARE's mission is to eliminate domestic and sexual violence while promoting social change and empowering survivors by offering shelter and services.

What should I wear?

Derby hats and colorful ties are encouraged! Attendees in the past have gone all out with colorful outfits for both men and women. There will be a contest for best hat and best tie so dress to impress. For inspiration, check out last year's photos at www.awareshelter.org/kentucky-derby.

Will there be entertainment?

Yes! A live DJ will keep you hyped up while you try your hand at one of our game tables. Play one of several games for your chance to win some awesome prizes. Of course the party wouldn't be complete without a live stream of the 2024 Run for the Roses on the big screen.

Will there be food?

All ticket holders will have access to a buffet will heavy hors d'oeuvres like pretzels with beer cheese, chronic fries, apple salad, BBQ pulled pork sliders, bacon jam sliders, and Reuben fritters.

Is there a bar?

Ticket holders will receive one drink ticket that can be redeemed for house beer, wine, or a mint julep. After that, you'll be able to purchase additional drinks on your own tab.
