Kentucky Derby Day & Hobby Horse Showcase at SOUL Harbour Ranch

Join us for our Kentucky Derby Day celebration, visits with our special therapy animals AND featuring a Hobby Horse Showcase at SOUL Harbour Ranch!

ADMISSION INCLUDES: Kentucky Derby Day fun, therapy animal visits, pool noodle horse craft, raffles, & participation in our Hobby Horse showcase in our new Foglia Family Foundation Training Center!

Join us for Kentucky Derby Day fun. Visit SOUL Harbour Ranch and our special therapy animals dressed in your best Kentucky Derby attire. Best Hat and Most Debonair contests. Craft includes a pool noodle “hobby horse” for all that would like to join our Hobby Horse Showcase.

The Hobby Horse Showcase will feature “riders” who will complete a course of jumps with their hobby horse (a toy horse made of a straight stick with a small horse's head attached to one end OR riders can use their pool noodle horse).

All participants with paid admission will be allowed to choose 2 Hobby Horse Showcase events to participate in as well as the High Jump Competition. For those choosing not to participate in the Hobby Horse Showcase, that is fine too!

The Hobby Horse Showcase will be divided into age group divisions and classes *start times are approximate*

1. Fun Jump (ALL ages): not timed, no routine necessary, just have fun jumping the course! Use as your practice round before the below competitions. Start time: 12:30pm-1:30

2. Junior Showjumping: Timed event w/penalty for poles knocked down.
Ages 11 and under: 1 foot Start time 12:30-1:30

Ages 12 and over: 2 feet) 12:30-1:30
3. Senior Showjumping; Ages 12 and over 2 1/2 feet 12:30-1:30
4. Barrel racing: an exhilarating Western contest racing the barrels for the fastest time (Ages 11 and under; Ages 12 and over) 1:30-2pm
5. High Jump: ALL riders will be able to participate in the High Jump Competition! 2pm-2:30pm

PRACTICE SESSIONS with Hobby Horse enthusiast Mica Zandstra (must email soulharbourranchatp@gmail.com and RSVP prior to practice sessions) on the following dates:

4/7 2-4pm at SOUL Harbour Ranch

4/21 2-4pm at SOUL Harbour RanchFun exhibition jumping with a few of our high jumping mini therapy horses!

Riders can wear Derby or riding attire or dress in whatever they deem appropriate with closed toe shoes. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st-6th place finishers in the classes (except for fun jump). A participation ribbon will be provided to all who compete and don't otherwise place.

The day will be filled with Kentucky Derby & Hobby Horse fun PLUS visits with our therapy animals. We will have raffle prizes too!

Featuring international Hobby Horse enthusiast Mica Zandstra, who has competed in US and International (Finland) Hobby Horse Competitions. She was featured in Young Rider discussing her passion for participating in Hobby Horse Competitions as well as her passion for sewing/creating/selling custom Hobby Horses!

Hobby Horses can be homemade or store bought, or pool noodle craft that is included with admission.
