<H2>KCVR HACKATHON 2016</H2>

Join us for the KCVR Hackathon! Come hang out with us July 15 - July 17 at the Google Fiber Space in Kansas City. Tickets are FREE, food will be provided, and we will provide resources (hardware and development tools) to get you started! Local educators will be in attendance to help teams brainstorm topics, ideas, and solutions for common problems. Be sure to sign up on this page before the event - we will limit the amount of attendees so that we can plan accordingly.

Educators are often left with complicated problems in the classroom. More often than not, these are problems that could be solved or alleviated with the use of technology. With the rapidly growing impact and importance of virtual reality, let's work together to find solutions that could help educators and students.
 
THE GOAL:
The goal for you and your team will be to create a virtual reality / augmented reality application that can benefit educators and students. Prizes will be awarded to the best presented solutions at the end of the hackathon!

Wait, what is a "Hackathon?" 
A hackathon is an event in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. Teams get together to create an application, game, or technology solution to encourage growth and win prizes.
I don't have coding experience and I don't have a VR headset. What about me? 
We'll help provide VR equipment to borrow for teams that don't already have access to equipment. For this event, we'll encourage teams to develop for mobile platforms (such as Google Cardboard, Gear VR, and Google Daydream), but we won't prevent anyone from developing on any hardware of their own.
Don't worry about not having coding experience! We'll give you resources to point you in the right direction. If you can, you may want to team up with a coder to work with them to develop a project.
I want to attend, but I don't know of anyone else to go with.
Good news! We'll make sure that you get placed with a team that you can work with for the duration of the weekend.
What if I make something really good? Do I keep it? What happens next?
We'll help you connect with whoever we can to bring your program to the next level! After the event, you will of course be able to keep your work and continue to develop it however you would like.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 presented solutions at the end of the hackathon! (We'll post these as we get confirmation!)
