Join us for a fun day on the water!

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, East Canyon State Park and experts from Kayak Fishing Utah are teaming up to offer a free Kayak Fishing Clinic for anglers who have never fished from a kayak before.

Event registration is free, but visitors must pay the $25 day-use fee to enter East Canyon State Park. (Your annual Utah State Parks Pass is valid for park entry.)

The following will be covered

  • Safety while fishing from a kayak
  • Equipment and gear needed
  • How to select and set up a kayak for fishing
  • How to fish from a kayak
  • Fish handling
  • Utah bass tournament series


Event details

  • Experienced kayak anglers will provide a presentation about kayak fishing.
  • Expert anglers will demonstrate how to set up fishing rods and fish from a kayak.


What to expect

  • Please dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Bring a lawn chair, drinking water and snacks.
  • Event registration is free, but participants must pay the $25 day-use fee to enter East Canyon State Park.
