A workshop using the soft pastel medium for the serious beginner to Intermediate. This workshop will show you how to easily select the right pastel for the intended value within a landscape. Knowing the correct values will give you confidence to use more luminous color combinations. We will also explore ways to create texture with mediums that will enhance your expression and have fun in the process. Daily demonstrations with emphasis on “loosening up”, and keeping it fresh along with design control. This will be a fun, relaxed workshop designed to provide you with steps to creating mini landscapes in pastel.
Other topics that will be covered are composition tips, color harmony, depicting light and shadow, and a demo on framing a small pastel.
$275 includes landscape photo reference and supplies to make 2 - 6x6 or 8x8 pastel boards. A supply list will be provided at least two months before the workshop.
