About this event
Join us for Rebecca Petchenik's new play KAIT, a queer sci-fi love story about a sex robot who is put on trial for the murder of her abusive owner.
Rebecca Petchenik writes, “I’ve lived my entire life in service of storytelling.” Her new play “KAIT” starts with an incredible one - a sex bot who murders her abusive owner. “KAIT” is set in the near future, where true artificial intelligence is discovered in Kait, the animatronic sex doll. The doll’s original programmer and her attorney must fight for Kait's right to autonomy, or else Kait will face destruction at the hands of the state, and from the clutches of a greedy robotics corporation.
Produced by Kimberly Dauber and Hear Me Out Productions. Written and directed by Rebecca Petchenik. Starring Clara Tan, Kimberly Dauber, and Imani Powell.
