Ken Bernard Founded Garden Ponds Nursery 28 Years ago after falling in love with watergardening and balenced eco systems. Over the years he has learned the most common mistakes with water gardening in our unique semi-tropical climate of hawaii.

Kadomatsu is a Japanese New Year’s decoration made primarily of bamboo and pine. It symbolises resilience, growth, and good fortune.

Join us at Garden Ponds for a hands-on kadomatsu-making experience! On Saturday, we’re hosting a series of workshops where you’ll learn to craft your own traditional Japanese New Year’s decoration, the kadomatsu. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season and share some creative time together. Session Times:• Noon• 1:00 PM• 2:00 PM• 3:00 PM• (Possibly 4:00 PM if there’s enough interest!)Each workshop will be approximately 30 minutes. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your booked time to ensure the workshop begins on time. Pricing:• $50 per person if you’d like to take your kadomatsu home with you• $25 per person if you’d like to craft one that will be donated or given away Whether you’re making one as a gift or keeping it for your own home, we’ll provide all the materials and guidance you need. Come for the creativity, stay for the community spirit, and leave with a beautiful piece of seasonal decor!
