KACF Party for the Planet Penguin Prom in association with Penguins International and the Denver Downtown Aquarium.

If you missed your prom, if you didn't have a date, if Covid got in the way of your celebration, or if you just want to have some fun, now is your time to grab your significant other to party for the planet.

Come join us for a night of fun at the Denver Downtown Aquarium for the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund party for the planet PENGUIN PROM! This is sure to be a good time. Get ready to dance the night away for our adorable penguin friends. Dress to impress in your best black and white attire and enjoy a night filled with music, food, drink and levity.

Dress attire is certainly not required but it's a great excuse to get all dolled up if you so choose.


The evening begins with a buffet dinner at 7:00PM. The menu consists of:

  • Mixed green salad with tomato, cucumber and carrots, with creamy herb or ranch dressing
  • Classic Caesar Salad
  • Pasta Marinara (Veg, V)
  • Chicken Alfredo
  • Penne with Pesto
  • Chicken Parmesan
  • Eggplant Parmesan
  • Garlic Bread
  • Assorted Chef's Desserts
  • Beverage station with water, iced tea and lemonade

Alcoholic beverages are available to purchase in the Dive Lounge adjacent to the Nautilus Ballroom from 6:00PM to 10:30PM with appropriate ID.

After dinner, guests are invited to peruse the aquarium exhibits for a period of time before returning to the Nautilus Ballroom to enjoy music and dancing.

Free parking is included with your ticket purchase. Enter CODE 7000 on the keypad when entering the parking lot to receive your validated parking entry.

Are kids allowed?

The Penguin Prom is open to kids of all ages but we highly encourage an adult audience. Of course, you must be of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.

Is the Penguin Prom open to same sex and non-binary couples?

Of course. Everyone is welcome.

Is the Penguin Prom open to opposite sex couples?

Of course. Everyone is welcome.

Is formal attire required?

Absolutely not, but it is a prom and a great excuse to gussy up a bit.

Is parking readily available?

Yes. The Denver Downtown Aquarium has a large parking lot and is free to attendees of the Penguin Prom. Enter CODE 7000 on the keypad when entering the parking lot to receive your validated parking entry.

I am vegetarian or vegan. Will meal options be available to me?

Absolutely. The menu is listed above with options for you.

Is alcohol included in the ticket price?

Unfortunately, no. The Dive Lounge is adjacent to the Nautilus Ballroom and will be staffed with bartenders and a full bar. Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase.

Will I be able to walk through the aquarim?

Yes, aquarium access will be made accessible to all Penguin Prom guests after dinner to we can transition to dancing in the Nautilus Ballroom.

The Katie Adamson Conservation Fund is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization of people who help endangered animals by helping people. It is our conservation imperative.  It was established in 2014 by Zookeeper, Dave Johnson, and Ray Lucero to promote endangered animal conservation initiatives worldwide.

The mission of KACF is to help empower and educate the people of our planet to work together to save our remaining ecosystems and all of the creatures they contain.

The conservation fund is dedicated to the memory of, and named in honor of Katie Adamson.  She will always be remembered for her courage, her sense of humor, and above all her love of all living things. Her spirit will live on in everything we do.

Katie passed away of Ewing's Sarcoma in 2014.
