This one-day course, Visual Models and Core Strategies for Teaching K-5 Math, is designed to equip elementary educators with a deep understanding of the visual models, conceptual approaches, and problem-solving strategies emphasized in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Participants will explore key content areas such as number operations, place value, fractions, and early algebraic thinking through the lens of concrete, pictorial, and abstract representations. The course empahsizes the progression of mathematical understanding across grade levels and provides practical techniques for supporting diverse learners. Teachers will engage with hands-on activities, lesson planning, and student work analysis to build their confidence in implementing effective, standards-aligned instruction in their classrooms.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made more than 180 days prior to this event will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made between 180 and 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund minus a 10% processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of the event.
