At First Congregational Church of Houston we don’t require any creeds for membership, and we encourage members to be free thinkers. We welcome seekers, questioners, believers, and everyone in between.In addition to serving others in need, weadvocate for social justicein the public square.Decisions in Houston City Hall, Harris County, Austin, and Washington D.C. have serious implications for people’s lives and for serving those on the margins of society. We partner with local, regional, and national advocacy groups to learn about issues and the most effective means to bring about change.

<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal">Shared stories from murder victim and death row family members of healing through reconciliation, and Q&A with the Office of Kim Ogg, Harris County District Attorney.</H3>
Told from personal experiences of loved ones lost to murder or subject to capital punishment, storytellers recount their tragedies and their struggles in a “Journey of Hope...From Violence to Healing.” These family members speak of choosing to not seek revenge, and instead to chose love and compassion and forgiveness as a way of healing. 
Harris County has sent more people to death row than any other county in the United States since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. What stance will the Office of Kim Ogg, Harris County District Attorney take in the future on the death penalty for capital murder cases?
Hear and meet Journey of Hope storytellers, David Kaczynski, Ami Lyn White, and Bill Babbitt, and Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg's Chief of Staff, Vivian King, Tuesday October 17, 7pm – 9pm,  at First Congregational Church of Houston, 10840 Beinhorn Road, Houston.
