Jupiter CLG Training

The Florida  Division of Historical Resources is part of the Florida Department of State and is charged with inspiring the love of Florida history through preservation and education. The Division serves as the State Historic Preservation Office and facilitates preservation activities across Florida by identifying and designating historic properties, by reviewing the impact on historic resources of federally and state permitted projects, and by providing training and technical assistance to our preservation partners at the state and local level.

<P>The Florida Division of Historical Resources is partnering with the town of Jupiter to provide Certified Local Government training April 1-2, 2019.</P>
<P>The purpose of this event will be to provide historic preservation training to CLG staff, board members, elected officials, and members of the general public, as well as to other local governments interested in the CLG program and Main Street community staff and board members.</P>
<P CLASS="has-user-generated-content js-d-read-more read-more js-read-more read-more--medium-down read-more--expanded">A two-day program is planned for this event. The first day will feature training sessions on the standards and guidelines for design review, presented by the National Alliance of Preservation Commission’s popular “CAMP” speakers. This session will be followed by presentations by the Division of Historical Resources. The second day will be facilitated by the Florida Division of Historical Resources and include sessions on Preservation Planning, Historic Resources Surveys, and Engaging the Public in Historic Preservation. </P>

<P CLASS="has-user-generated-content js-d-read-more read-more js-read-more read-more--medium-down read-more--expanded">To provide networking opportunities between CLGs, the workshops will include a networking reception on the program’s first day, and an open discussion session on the program’s second day. You are encouraged to bring discussion topics to this session.</P>

The tour will end at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum for an evening reception.<BR><STRONG></STRONG></P>
