Junior Coders Academy: Space Mission Controller
10-12 year-olds engage in screen-free coding. Work together, plan the rescue route, precision in sequence to bring the astronaut back.
Junior Coders Academy: Space Mission Controller
Ages 10–12 · ⏰ Saturday, May 9 · 10:00–12:00 · 📍 Wassenaar
The KEKO Space Agency has a situation.
An astronaut is stranded on the other side of the facility.
Communication is limited. The route is not clear.
And the only way home is through your team.
Your child is Mission Control.
No laptops. No tablets. No screens of any kind.
What your child will use instead: their mind, their team, and a sequence of decisions that have to be right — in the right order — to bring the mission home.
This is how real computational thinking works. Not by typing commands into a device, but by understanding that every problem has a structure, every solution has a sequence, and one step out of order changes everything.
Debug it. Replan it. Try again.
Precision under pressure — the way programmers actually think.
What your child will actually do
They will read and interpret written mission instructions. Apply geometry to plan and navigate a precise route. Write and revise their plan as the mission evolves. Work in a small team where collaboration is not optional — it is the only way the astronaut gets home.
Reading. Geometry. Writing. Sequential logic.
All of it in use — because a real mission does not wait for the right lesson.
What is included
All materials and tools are provided. No screens required — or allowed.
Tickets: €75 per child
Returning Student Skills BootCamp families: €70
***Spaces are small by design.
Junior Coders Academy runs in small groups so that every child is actively thinking — not sitting back and watching someone else solve it. The group is the team. The team solves the mission.
If Saturday, May 9 is already on your mind — confirm it now. These sessions fill quietly and quickly.

Part of the Keko Drop-in Workspace
Junior Coders Academy is one of Keko’s hands-on, screen-free programmes for children in Wassenaar and Leiden. Each session is self-contained — no coding experience needed, no prior sessions required. Just come ready to think.
