Dance & Rest Workshop for People of African Descent

A Conscious Dance and Rest workshop designed for all self-identified People of African descent

About this Event

You are invited to a daylong workshop of movement and rest with Movement Liberation. Your space holders, Valerie Chafograck, Oya Heart Warrior, and Sarah Crowell welcome all movers of African descent to join in this collective liberatory experience.

As People of African descent, we rarely get a chance to breathe, move, play, rest, or dream together. This workshop invites us all into a state of rejuvenation and nourishment. We will explore what it means to heal within our historical and cultural context.

In this daylong we will use the platforms of conscious dance, and the power of ritual to embody presence, cultivate awareness of self and others, lean into community, and become a source of inspiration and support for each other. We will reconnect with our JOY, legacy and reimagine our futures.

Logistics

Registration is required and you must be available to stay the entire duration of time. The sliding scale is from $88-$1,008. For participants who are economically secure, we respectfully ask you to donate at the level you are able to join us. Offer what makes you feel generous, rather than contracted, so as to support those who are experiencing financial hardship at this time.

COVID PROTOCOL : Must show a negative Covid test on day of workshop. Masks are optional. https://movement-liberation.com/covid-guidelines
