Fourth Industrial Pictures and the National Black MBA Houston Chapter present the Premiere Roadshow for If They Took Us Back!
In the alternate history short film If They Took Us Back, the U.S. government mandated the return of all formerly enslaved people back to Africa in 1863. More than a century later, a descendant of the ‘Black Returns’ (DANIEL) decides to break the 150-year exile and return to the U.S. in exchange for overdue reparations from a remorseful, sympathetic and Black-obsessed America.
This Juneteenth, celebrate Black freedom and culture with a screening of the short film If They Took Us Back, live performances from featured soundtrack artist Daniel Fears, The Making of If They Took Us Back mini-documentary, live local vendors and art, panel discussions with the cast, writer/director Holly Charles-Pearson and more.
Please note: The show will be held at the Emancipation Park Conservancy’s Cultural Center, which may not be identified by Eventbrite. You can locate the event using the address above or by using the map included here
