On Friday, June 14th, Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit will collaborate with Motown Museum to kick off the weekend with an interactive, educational, and art-driven block party experience. This event aims to educate the community on the importance of Juneteenth, highlight music’s impact on social change, and showcase programs and resources offered by Motown Museum. The block party will also uplift Black expression through art and poetry.

Continuing the celebration on Saturday, June 15th, Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit will activate the Joseph Walker Williams Community Center. by hosting Liberation for Life. This event will cultivate a space to share resources and information, as well as promote health, wealth, and education. It will feature panel discussions, a marketplace featuring local entrepreneurs, food trucks, fitness installations, a kid’s zone, a special Black father’s forum, and more! JJD is proud to have dynamic organizations such as Detroit is Different, Black Leaders Detroit, 100 Black Men,  Family Assistance for Renaissance Men, and Black Male Educator Alliance already on board to make Saturday’s celebration incredible.

Sunday, June 16th, will see the culmination of the weekend with the Juneteenth Freedom Festival, organized in partnership with  The City of Detroit, Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance, Detroit Branch NAACP, Charles H.
