Join us on Saturday, June 15th, as Black Brew Movement and Bitter Fruit Brewing, in collaboration with the Town of Herndon, Virginia, proudly present our second annual Juneteenth celebration! Nestled in the heart of our historic downtown, this exclusive event will feature a comprehensive tasting experience courtesy of the Black Brew Movement (www.blackbrewmovement.com) and Bitter Fruit Brewing, Northern Virginia’s sole Black-owned brewery (www.strangefruitbrewing.com).
But that's not all! Come enjoy delectables from local food trucks, shop with various vendors, and engaging activities tailored for kids. Feel free to explore, Herndon's vibrant businesses and restaurants, all within easy walking distance.

Event Agenda:
11:00 am: Kids activities begin

Outside on the gravel of Arts Herndon and at Herndon Fortnightly Library. Kids activities include: face painting, coloring, and ice cream

Noon: Presentation on "The Freedom of Henry Simms"

Herndon Historical Society will highlight the life and legacy of Henry Simms, an African American who was once enslaved, fought for his freedom and won, and became a successful Black business owner in the Town of Herndon.”

1:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Exclusive Tasting Event

Located on Town Green outside of Arts Herndon, this tasting will begin following the reading of the Proclamation and feature beers from Black-owned beer companies from D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. This event will also feature a limited edition collaboration honoring Herndon’s original Black businessman, Mr. Simms, will be featured. Enjoy food trucks and shop with local vendors. Music by Herndon’s own DJ Rich. This event is included in the ticket price and is limited to adults 21 and older.

7:00 pm: Jazz concert at Arts Herndon

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm: Brewers After Hours

Join the brewers at Mile 20 for a more intimate conversation on starting and operating a craft brand/brewery. This informal event is hosted by Mile 20 The Breeze. Food and beer are available for purchase.
