Midstory is a 501(c)(3) non-profit thinkhub that progresses the narrative of the Midwest by incubating bright, diverse and interdisciplinary thinkers to exchange ideas and envision the future of our region through multimedia storytelling and solutions-oriented research since its founding in 2018. As an educational media organization, Midstory informs, interprets and inspires in and for the Midwest and believes that our region’s challenges can be our greatest asset to drive renewed interest and human capital into post-industrial cities.


Speakers:

Samuel Chang - President

Samuel holds a B.A. in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University with a certificate in East Asian Studies. He previously managed a prison education nonprofit providing tutoring support to incarcerated people in seven states. His film work has been featured by Princeton, the Center for American Progress, PBS & more. Samuel advises on the board of the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts.


Logan Sander - Editorial Director

Logan obtained her degree in Comparative Literature and Chinese Language & Culture from Princeton. Her work has been published in TIME, the Forward, the New York Times & the Toledo Free Press. She sits on the board of the Toledo History Museum and the board of Princeton University’s Press Club.


Ruth Chang - Creative Director

Ruth holds a B.A. in Architecture from Princeton and a M.Arch from Harvard Graduate School of Design. Before Midstory, Ruth worked on affordable housing solutions as a designer in Boston, and has design experience in Asia and Europe. She is on the board of the Toledo Design Collective.
