About this event

  • 1 hour

Specialty coffee can be intimidating. "Semi-washed anaerobic natural" means... what? How can a coffee taste like jasmine and mangoes? If it's espresso, how can it also be brewed coffee? For a beverage meant to be consumed before you're even awake, there's a lot to learn.

Introduction to Specialty Coffee can help you understand the ins and outs of this amazing and complex beverage. It will break down growing, processing, roasting, and brewing coffee so you can understand what the different terms mean. You'll taste different coffees and learn to appreciate different aspects of coffee and discern what traits appeal to you. By the end of the class you should have a better understanding of what you enjoy in a coffee and feel more confident heading into the coffee aisle.

Each attendee will leave with an 8 ounce bag of single-origin coffee of brew at home to welcome them into the world of gourmet coffee!
