About this event

REGISTRATION will CLOSE ON JUNE 1st, or sooner if capacity is reached earlier.

Learn to belly dance! Come try this beautiful dance form, inspired by traditional dances of the Middle East and North Africa. Belly dancing is a terrific workout that promotes good posture, strengthens core muscles, and helps you develop coordination and control over your movements. Great for people of any size, shape and gender.

In this dance, different parts of the body are moved independently and layered to make a unity. Every part of your body will participate, from your toes to your fingertips, your head and also your heart, as you develop body awareness and coordination. Regardless of your age or body type, you can always learn something from this dance.

In this course, Seyyide will present the foundations of belly dance, including technique and combos suitable for beginner students.

DATES INCLUDED IN THIS SESSION: We will progress throughout the course of several weeks to learn, practice and enjoy the fundamental moves of belly dance.

4 classes, 7:50 to 9:00 pm, on Mondays 6/3, 6/10, 6/17 and 6/24.

Plan on arriving by 7:50 pm at the latest, and we will start at full throttle by 8:00. Wear any comfortable clothes that you would wear for yoga or exercising. It is also fun (but not required) to get a hip to tie at your hips. For some convenient options to get a hip scarf, check HERE. Feel free to check our dancewear HERE.

Please, arrive on time, at least 10 minutes before class starts. Class starts at 7:45 pm. The receptionist will close the doors by 8:00pm.

Must sign for the whole 4-class series. No drop ins available. No refunds. (If you are unavailable on one or two of the dates: See FAQ below)

IMPORTANT NOTES DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC

We appreciate to keep ourselves and all students as safe as possible, and we continue to be careful about our health.

  • I am no longer asking for certification of COVID vaccination.
  • Masks will be optional for all: Feel free to wear a mask if you feel safer.

We will frequently review any covid policy changes made by City and State and adjust accordingly with the goal of keeping all students, teachers and staff safe at the studio.

Students are encouraged to maintain basic hygiene, including hand washing as necessary, and requested to please stay home if you have contagious disease symptoms.

Note about parking: The parking lot in the premises is available for studio personnel or visitors with a flat fee of $5 (NO PARKING PASSES SALES IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 8:00, and you'll be towed if you park there without a pass regardless). You can find parking on the street (metered spots available in all surrounding streets, and you only need to feed them until 8:00 pm). The studio is also very accessible by public transportation (buses and the red line bring you nearby).
