What is a Makerspace?

A Makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for ideating, designing, making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools.

Who can attend Phipps Neighborhoods' free Makerspace in West Farms, Bronx?

Anyone age 14 or older. The Makerspace is wheelchair accessible.

How can I register for a free workshop?

You can check on Eventbrite each month for a new workshop. Workshops usually happen on the last Saturday of each month (except when there's a holiday). Check our social media pages for a QR code to register on Eventbrite (look for Phipps Neighborhoods).

How many people are enrolled for each workshop?

Our space can hold up to 16 participants. Workshops will have 10 to 16 makers.

Why are the workshops free?

We (Phipps) aim to eliminate the digital divide and provide community members with digital access and STEAM resources.
