ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

Acadia National Park protects the natural beauty of the highest rocky headlands along the Atlantic coastline of the United States, an abundance of habitats, and a rich cultural heritage. At 4 million visits a year, it's one of the top 10 most-visited national parks in the United States. Visitors enjoy 27 miles of historic motor roads, 158 miles of hiking trails, and 45 miles of carriage roads. More on https://www.nps.gov/acad/index.htm

BAR HARBOR

Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island along Maine’s Frenchman Bay. It serves as a gateway to the mountains and cliffs of neighboring Acadia National Park. Towering over the park, Cadillac Mountain has trails and views of the town, the bay and the Cranberry Islands. Sand Beach is ringed by mountains. From the town pier, the Shore Path winds along the bay overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Porcupine Islands. More on https://www.visitbarharbor.com/

PORTLAND, ME

With its heady mixture of artistic and outdoor adventure, our region is stylish and sophisticated, genuine and welcoming—a place where grey flannel and plaid flannel can coexist. Modern marvels mingling with maritime history. And underlying the latest art, fashion, music, and culinary scene is a deep sense of continuity. More on https://www.visitportland.com/

TENTATIVE PLAN (Plan may vary depending on weather among other factors)

6/19 Wednesday:

• Arrive at Portland Head Light around 2:30 PM after lunch. Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Completed in 1791, it is the oldest lighthouse in Maine. We will visit the place for about 1 hour .

• Before checking in the house, we will go grocery shopping for breakfasts, snacks & drinks.

6/20 Thursday:

• Drive the Park Loop Road inside Acadia. The 27-mile Park Loop Road connects the mountains, forest, lakes, and coastline of Acadia National Park. It provides visitors with a beautiful and convenient way to experience the Park.

• Explore Sand Beach, listen to the powerful waves at Thunder Hole, and visit the Jordan Pond House (can get lunch here). Optionally, hike around Bubble Rock.

• Stroll along the Ocean Path for sunning coastal view

6/21 Friday:

• Rise early to catch the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain. It’s a breathtaking experience! Currently it is closed due to road repaving. Hope it will open when we visit. In case it is still closed, we can replace it with a moderate hike.

• Hike the Beehive Loop Trail for stunning views(Hard/4.9 Stars). Be prepared for some rock scrambling—it’s worth it! Good foot wear is recommended.

• Head to Bass Harbor Lighthouse, an iconic spot for photos and coastal views.

6/22 Satuday:

• Rent bikes and explore the Carriage Road System (extra cost on bike rental) or we can have another 2-3 hours hike.

• Wander around downtown Bar Harbor, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and a relaxed coastal vibe.

• Enjoy a leisurely dinner at one of Bar Harbor’s local eateries.

6/23 Sunday:

• Check out the house, and head back to NYC

• On the way back, we can visit Boston for 2 hours.
