Welcome to Preparing for Birth and Beyond!

Join us at the Lakewood Family Room located at Cove Community Center in Lakewood, Ohio. This in-person class is designed to help you prepare for the journey of pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Whether you're a first-time parent or adding to your family, our knowledgeable Birth and Postpartum Doula and Lactation Counselor, Kristen Bindel will provide valuable information and support to guide you through this exciting time.

Parents will learn how to communicate with hospital/care staff, decision making skills, advocacy, coping methods, pain management, body balancing techniques, navigate natural labor, inductions, medicated labors, and cesareans. We will also cover common interventions, newborn care proceedures, how to stay positive, and the role and importance of partners. Guidance on the postpartum time and lactation/breastfeeding/infant feeding will also be covered.

Alll participants will be given a guidebook containing The Stages of Labor, Postpartum Planning, Lactation 101, How to Choose a Bottle, Breast Pump Guide, Community Resource List, and Birth Plan Template.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with other expectant parents. Light refreshments will be provided.

This session is broken into 3 evenings. Instruction will start by 5:15.

July 31st: 5:00-7:30: Birth & Beyond Class II

August 14th: 5:00-7:30: Lactation and Infant Feeding 101
