Come join the SOAL Volunteer Team at Harrisburg’s oldest historically African American burial grounds: Lincoln Cemetery for a Free/Donation-based one-of-a-kind experience!
All ages and levels of experience welcome! Come for a few hours or all day. We are onsite rain or shine, in the heat and cold.

We Still Need:
People to join our board and management team, in-kind, and service-based contributions: including grant-writing, accounting, meals and snacks for volunteers, tools, materials, vehicles, tree services, web design and development, copy editing, legal assistance, visual and performing artists, volunteer management, program and project managers, storytellers, cemetery restoration specialists to lead special workshops, arborists, farmers, a herd of goats, sheep, and alpacas, film makers, oral historians, genealogists, and YOU to share family stories, research, and photos!

As a volunteer-based nonprofit we depend on donations from people like you to continue to be able to do this important work. But, if you prefer to donate in person or in-kind--just enter a zero dollar donation amount at checkout.
We always appreciate when SOAL volunteers bring snacks to share, bottled waters, and a cash donation--but none of these items are required for your participation!

We have some tools, work gloves, and equipment on site, but you are welcome to bring your own as well! We also take donations!
