M﻿ayberry Comes to Scottsburg is a non-profit  organization whose mission is to host an annual family friendly festival based on The Andy Griffith Show. Each year thousands of fans gather to experience the wholesome, down home atmosphere of a community where people care about each other and readily offer a smile and a handshake. Celebrities including original cast members from The Andy Griffith Show join a large number of Tribute Artists who portray characters from the show for a parade, meet and greet sessions, presentations and shows. There are vendor booths with crafts, food, games and other fun activities. This event supports several local organizations and charities through their participation and donations.

<h2>Don’t Miss the Joy Ellison Interview!</h2><p>Come hang out in person and hear wonderful stories from Joy Ellison herself! Joy played several memorable characters on The Andy Griffith Show including Mary Wiggins, the prettiest girl in town, and Effie Muggins in The Christmas Story. She practically grew up in Mayberry appearing in 5 episodes from the early seasons through the color years and also appeared in the spinoff Gomer Pyle USMC.</p><p>After an amazing acting career, Joy remained in the industry as a successful dialect coach. She's worked with such film actors as Isabella Rossellini, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Antonio Banderas, Eric Bana and Brad Pitt. She remains highly sought after for film projects around the world.</p>
