Join the Wizarding Resistance! Evening Session

The mission of the Public Library of Brookline is to provide access to recorded knowledge and information to all the people of Brookline. The Library will seek to instill in children a love of reading and an appreciation of the library's resources. It will also build and maintain collections of print and non-print materials and provide electronic access to information in order to meet the intellectual and recreational needs of all populations of the community in the most cost-effective manner.

Join the Wizarding Resistance! Will you train to help defeat the forces of darkness?
This registration is for your ticket packet to attend our Wizarding Resistance Training on Sunday, October 28.
THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR ATTENDEES IN GRADE 9 (AGES 13) AND UP ONLY. Anyone who tries to attend under the age of 13 will not be admitted (please don’t make us the bad guys.) For families with fans under the age of 13, <A HREF="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/join-the-wizarding-resistance-registration-50085246320" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer">please register for the family event during the afternoon here</A>.
In the two weeks before the event, starting October 13 through October 27, you must pick up your ticket packet from the Reference Desk on the first floor of the Brookline Village Library. 
Inside your ticket packet will be:

<LI>Wristbands! These will allow all of your registered attendees to enter the event at your designated time (and only during your designated time).</LI>

<LI>Details of what your training will be</LI>
<LI>Information on attending, time limits, expectations for attendee behavior, and how to make the most of the event</LI>
</UL>
Your wristbands will be your only way in the event and will only be valid for the evening event you registered for, so please keep careful track of them.  If you lose your wristbands, please contact the library immediately by email brklibeventbrite@minlib.net.
PLEASE NOTE
We understand that the pressure to get tickets is very high. We do our best to allow as many attendees as possible, but we must set limits to keep the event enjoyable and manageable for our staff and attendees.
If there is a technology problem or something seems to go awry with the ticketing system, please send an email to brklibeventbrite@minlib.net and we will do everything in our power to fix any technical issues.
REGISTRATION

<LI>Registration for spots at the event will start at 3 PM on Wednesday, October 3.</LI>
<LI>Attendees may enter the event only during their registered time, which in this case is our evening event running between 6:30 and 8:30 PM.</LI>
<LI>200 wizard in training tickets will be made available for this event.</LI>

WAITLIST
IF TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT, a waitlist will be started. If any attendee cancels their tickets, those on the waitlist will be notified as soon as possible by email. Please register on the waitlist for each member of your group -- the waitlist allows only one ticket per spot. 
The event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Brookline Library, without which we'd all be left at King's Cross Station with no tickets. FAQs
Do I need to register to attend?
Yes. You must have a wristband to enter the event, and you may only get a wristband through registering here. Registration is free, but we must know how many people are coming.
How many tickets are available?
There are 200 spots available for wizards in training for the evening. When you register, you will need to include all members of your group.
You will be able to register four wizards in training at one time. 
What will we be doing at the event?
As in previous years, there will be a range of activities around the library that will present challenges for each attendee or group to test their skills in training exercises.  As you leave the event, every wizard in training will go home with a special giveaway.  You'll discover the specifics of each challenge in your ticket packet, and staff will be directing attendees throughout the event.
What ages is this event for?
THIS EVENT, taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 PM is for teens age 13 and up and adults. No attendees under 13 will be allowed in to the evening event. 
I don't live in Brookline. Can I still attend?
Yes! We are not limiting this event to Brookline residents, so everyone is welcome. 
Can I dress in costume?
Yes! Dressing up is encouraged.
Do I have to dress up to attend?
No. We look forward to seeing everyone in their favorite wizarding robes and in character, but it is not required.
What kind of food are you serving in the Great Hall?
This year, we will not be providing anything as substantial as a meal. However, we will have snacks for each attendee courtesy of Weasley's Joke Shop, so every wizard in training will get a bag of sweet favorites. 
Will you have kosher food at the event?
All of our snack bags will be kosher. If you have any questions about any items in the snack bag, please contact us at brklibeventbrite@minlib.net and we can send you the full details of each item available.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The directions to the library via car and via public transportation can be found <A HREF="https://www.brooklinelibrary.org/about/directions/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</A>.
We do have a parking garage with free parking underneath the library.  We anticipate, however, that the garage will fill up quickly.  Other parking options are available on the streets, and on Sundays, street parking in Brookline is free of charge.
