Celebrate Asian Heritage Month and the spirit of giving in May by joining OCA-GPC for a special movie screening event at Harkins Theatres Camelview at Fashion Square on May 18th from 2 to 4 pm! Get ready to be wowed by the 2024 PFF Best AAPI Directed Short film and honor local filmmaker Cindy Lee, the Arizona Filmmaker of the year. Enjoy three fantastic short films, plus a drink and popcorn, all for a tiny $5 donation to support Asian youths in Arizona. Let's make a reel difference together!

On the remote Hawaiian Island of Molokai, two estranged brothers reluctantly set out to catch a kala fish at the request of their dying father, allowing them to express long-held feelings in an attempt to heal the deep hurt that substance abuse has brought to their family.

The Stories They Didn't Tell Us - Nina's Story - 17 min

Nina came to the U.S. as a girl in 1975, with her family as refugees from Vietnam after the Fall of Saigon. Her American-born children know little about their mother's past. This documentary reflects separate interviews with Nina and her three 20-something age children, and the stories Nina didn't tell them. MEET THE FILMMAKER~Cindy Le.
