About this event

RUFF and The City of Roseville Open Space Division are hosting monthly mulching events during the 2024 summer.

Our Aug. and Sept. events are both at Hillsborough Park, Roseville. They are on Saturday, August 10 and Saturday, September 28, 2024. We start at 8:00 am and go until the mulch is spread or 12:00 pm.

We invite individual volunteers or groups to join us. It is a family friendly event!! If you have a group larger than 10 volunteers, please contact us at info@rosevilletree.org.

The event begins at 8:00am. Try to come a little early for registration. We start with a demonstration and instructions. There are several staff that will be available to help if there are any questions.

RUFF provides tools, gloves, masks. We have light refreshments and a water cooler available for our volunteers. We suggest bringing your own water bottle, as sometimes it's a little bit of a walk from the water station to where you will be working. We recommend wearing a mask when working with the mulch. We want to prevent breathing in any airborne spores or dust particles.

Volunteers are required to fill out waiver forms for both the City of Roseville and RUFF. You can find those forms on our website. RUFF has an online version. We have copies at the event as well.

Mulch is Magic! Mulch benefits your plants by smothering weeds, inviting helpful earthworms to move in, regulating the temperature of the soil, retaining moisture, providing nutrients and preventing erosion.
