Grammy-winner, XM radio host, 45-year music veteran John McEuen returns to Caffè Lena with his famous Circle Band. Often referred to as “the String Wizard,” McEuen weaves stories of his travels and family life with his celebrated songwriting backed by banjo, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin. A founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1966, McEuen instigated the 1972 classic album Will the Circle Be Unbroken, which was inducted into the Library of Congress as “one of America’s most important recordings.” With music from the 1860s to now, original songs and known hits, and a special tribute to the Circle album music (and the stories behind it), it all comes to life in an evening of acoustic music in overdrive. The Circle Band is Les Thompson, a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; John Cable, who toured Russia with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; and Matt Cartsonis.
