A lot of people talk about a crisis of masculinity, but what does that mean? And if the crisis is real, what do we do about it? In this talk, Dr. John Bishop will talk about the crisis and chart a course forward. John begins by drawing a clear picture of the crisis, reflecting on root causes of declining male participation in religious worship, interest in marriage, and general engagement in economic and political life. Then, painting with biology in one hand and theology in the other, John Bishop will build a picture of the sacredness of masculinity. Contrary to what some cultural voices say, masculinity is not a bad thing. On the contrary, authentic masculinity is sacred and the world desperately needs it.
This talk will take place on Thursday, March 20th at the Tea Room. Door open and drinks are served at 7PM. Talk begins at 8PM.
