TRAINING PROGRAMME

The training will, as a minimum, provide all attendees with a reminder of

1. The financial crime threats as outlined in:-

(a) the Proceeds of Crime (Jersey) Law 1999;

(b) the Terrorism (Jersey) Law 2002;

(c) the Money Laundering and Weapons Development (Directions) (Jersey) Law 2012;

(d) the Sanctions and Asset-Freezing (Jersey) Law 2019, other than Article 8;

2. The legal and regulatory requirements to prevent and detect the above financial crime threats include:-

(a) The Money Laundering (Jersey) Order

(b) The JFSC Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism/Countering Proliferation Financing Handbook sets out regulatory requirements in Codes of Practice and guidance for supervised persons and

(c) Other relevant JFSC guidance

The training will also ensure that all attendees:

1. Are provided a reminder of what is required in the recognition and handling of knowledge and or suspicion of :

(a) Money laundering or financing or terrorism or

(b) Activity contrary to Jersey sanction legislation

2. Are made aware of and information on

(a) Current money laundering techniques, methods, and trends.

3. Are made aware of the need to have policies and procedures that align with legal enactments and relevant JFSC Code of Practice and include such matters as:

(a) CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

(b) CUSTOMER DUE DILIGENCE [CDD]

(c) CDD EXCEPTIONS

(d) CDD SIMPLIFIED

(e) ENHANCED DUE DILIGENCE [EDD]

(f) CUSTOMER MONITORING

(g) INTERNAL SAR REPORTING

(h) EXTERNAL SAR REPORTING

(i) EXTERNAL SANCTIONS REPORTING

(j) EMPLOYEE SCREENING

(k) AWARENESS AND TRAINING OF EMPLOYEES.

(l) RECORD-KEEPING
