About this event

  • 3 hours

Join B Local PDX and Construct the Present for a 3-hour JEDI 101 (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) workshop, strategically aligned with the B Corp Assessment framework and tailored for people managers at B Corps and likeminded organizations. In this session, you will:

1) Deepen your understanding of DEI/JEDI fundamentals, equipping your organization to integrate these principles seamlessly into operations and thus enhancing your B Corp Assessment results, particularly in the domains of governance, workers, and community.

2) Learn how to incorporate JEDI best practices into your company's recruiting and onboarding processes as well as frameworks around career growth, mentorship, and skill development, making JEDI a foundation of your organizational culture.

3) Practice a pragmatic process for coaching teams on how to respond to microaggressions, reinforcing your commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace, a core element that aligns with the B Corp Assessment's criteria.

By investing in JEDI training, you cultivate a workplace environment where every individual feels valued, understood, and empowered. These initiatives serve as a catalyst for change, promoting awareness of biases, fostering empathy, and encouraging collaboration among diverse teams.

Please join us in building an inclusive and regenerative economy that works for all!

Who Is Invited?

As a joint venture between Construct the Present and B Local PDX, a nonprofit that supports B Corps in Oregon and SW Washington with programs that amplify best practices and deepen connections, this workshop is especially relevant for people managers at current and aspiring B Corps. However, there are countless purpose-driven businesses and nonprofits in our region, and all are welcome!

These in-person workshops are held quarterly at the Public Will Building in Portland, Oregon, thanks to our generous hosts at Metropolitan Group. There is also a virtual workshop option, exactly one week after this one.
