Find your inner florist at JCC East Bay's Older Adult Flower Arrangement Workshop! This colorful, joyful, and fragrant event will be led by a local Jewish Florist, April Schlanger, paired with a teaching from Jewish Nature Educator, Brianna Sommer, on the significance of connecting to nature in Judaism.

Jewish Florsit, April Schlanger:

  • April Schlanger has been a crafty maker since childhood. This need to create has taken her through many careers. She is currently an event stylist that specializes in floral arrangements.


Jewish Nature Educator, Brianna Sommer:

  • Brianna Sommer graduated with an MSc in Outdoor, Environmental, and Sustainability Education from the University of Edinburgh, focusing her dissertation on Eco-Jewish education. For three years, Brianna practiced her outdoor Jewish education as the outdoor lead mentor for Wilderness Torah. For the past seven years at JCC East Bay, she helped build a stronger, more active community for students in the East Bay and currently works as the Director of Youth & Teen Programs.

Where do I park?

Street parking along Walnut, Rose, and Vine is recommended.

What COVID percussions is the JCC East Bay taking?

We will have the our three French doors open for air flow and masks will be available.

Should I bring my own vase from home?

You can, if you'd like! We will also have butcher paper and twine if you'd prefer a vase-less experience.
