We are the New York Java Special Interest Group (NYJavaSIG), the largest Java Users Group in North America with 10K+  members.  We are well-known in the international technology community with monthly meetings. A Hands-On Workshop on Quantum Computing in Java

We&#x27;ve all heard the hype: Quantum computers will leave our current machines wallowing in the dust. Quantum algorithms will crack our current encryption schemes in seconds. Will it really happen? The answer depends on engineering problems that have yet to be solved. But for those of us who write code, many insights are already available. In this workshop, we&#x27;ll run Java code from Johan Vos&#x27;s upcoming Quantum Computing in Action book. We&#x27;ll use the code to find out how quantum algorithms approach problems.This is a hands-on workshop. To participate fully, please have the following installed on your computer before the session begins:<ul><li>Java 11*</li><li>IntelliJ IDEA (Community or Ultimate)</li></ul>* The software may not work with versions higher than Java 11.Presenter: Dr. Barry Burd is a professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Drew University in Madison, NJ, USA.
