About this event

  • 2 hours

We’ll have fun creating this art of rolling at home. We will go over step-by-step from preparing ingredients and cooking sushi rice. While we roll out 3 styles of sushi maki rolls, we’ll talk about the history and culture behind this long Japanese tradition. You’ll also learn how to properly cut and serve each style of maki sushi.

We will follow the steps below:

- Cook sushi rice from scratch and season sushi rice

- Make 3 styles of maki: Futomaki, Spicy Salmon Maki, and Temaki (Hand-Roll Cone Maki)

- The leftover ingredients will be used in making Chirashi Sushi Bowl.

You will receive the ingredient list with suggestions for fillings in the registration confirmation email. Please scroll down to the bottom of the email to click the link.

Class schedule: Monday, June 3 from 8:30-10:30pm Eastern Time Zone (5:30-7:30pm Pacific Time Zone). Please check the time on the Eventbrite as the Eventbrite time shows your actual local time zone. This class will be online via Zoom. The class will not be recorded. The price is per screen.

You will receive the ingredient and supply list in the confirmation email after you register. Please scroll down to the bottom of your email received from Eventbrite.

We will send out the complete recipe packet along with the Zoom link 6 days before the class starts. No refunds will be given after the complete recipe packet is sent out. The packet will also include step-by-step rolling directions, guides to buy sushi-grade fish, and substitute ingredients.
