Between dances, stroll through the manicured gardens under the stars, a perfect backdrop for an evening of refinement and Regency romance.

Due to the overwhelming interest in the waltz lessons leading up to the Jane Austen Ball, we are delighted to offer TWO separate waltz lesson sessions. Due to limited space available, a reservation made for one waltz lesson session is not transferable towards the other waltz session.
The first waltz lesson session takes place from 6-7PM with admission at 5:30PM. The second waltz lesson session will follow immediately from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM with admission at 6:30 PM. If you make a reservation that includes waltz lessons, please make a note of your time of admission and waltz lesson and arrive on time.
Due to the limited availability of space, a waltz lessons session reserved for one session is not transferrable to the other session in case you arrive earlier or later. Instead kindly arrive at the time of admission for your reservation.
A Partner or Prior Dance Experience Not Needed to Attend
You do not need a date or a dance partner to attend the ball so join us on your own or invite your friends to join us for a magical night from the pages of a Jane Austen novel! Even if you’ve never danced before, let us show you how to dance the waltz before the ball.

Waltz in the ballroom of Dumbarton House to our classical ensemble as they expertly perform delightful waltzes and other dance music. Sway to the music and imagine yourself in the halls of Pemberley as you meet International Club of DC members and make new friends.

Embark on optional tours through the historic mansion's rooms, where tales of yesteryear linger in the air. As the evening unfolds, walk through the beautifully manicured gardens beneath a canopy of stars—a quintessential setting for an affair filled with refinement and literary romance.

Regency attire is welcome but not required. Black tie, white tie, or other formal attire suggested if not attending in period attire.

After the waltz dance lesson concludes at 7PM, enjoy touring the garden and the histic mansion before the ball starts at 8PM.
6:30 PM Admission commences for guests who reserved a 7-8PM waltz dance lesson session. Arrive at 6:30 PM to enjoy desserts and wine available for purchase at the cash bar as you meet other guests prior to the waltz dance lesson from 7-8PM. After the waltz dance lesson concludes at 8PM, enjoy the Jane Austen Ball starting at 8PM.
8:00 PM Enjoy an evening of music and dance as you sway to the rhythms of our classical trio.
9:00 Optional tours of Dumbarton House conclude with the last tour at 9PM.
10:00 PM Event concludes.
Parking
Dumbarton House is in Georgetown and limited street parking is available in the vicinity of the venue. We highly recommend the Metro (closest is DuPont Circle) or Uber/Lyft to reach the venue.
Kindly note that, as is the case in most major cities, the availability of street parking in Washington DC is limited and beyond our control. Due to the limited availability of parking, we highly recommend a cab, Uber/Lyft or other transportation option. The event starts at the designated time so please allow sufficient time for traffic/travel/transportation and parking as these factors are beyond our control.
No Refunds
All ticket sales are final. No Refunds. The event will proceed rain or shine. If the event is postponed due to weather or other situation beyond our control, you can transfer your reservation towards attending any future similar event organized by the International Club of DC. No refunds will be offered due to a weather-related event postponement, but the amount paid can be applied towards any future event organized by us.
Kindly note that by purchasing a ticket, you accept responsibility to arrive for the event on time. Due to expenses incurred, we are unable to offer refunds if you are unable to attend the event for any reason. Purchase of tickets for the event constitutes your acceptance of our no-refund policy. Event details are subject to change as we continue to refine the event.
Tickets will be released to the person who purchased the tickets upon presenting photo ID. If you purchased more than one ticket, please arrive for admission with your guest(s).
