Deuterman Productions Presents - JAMEY JOHNSON

Support: w/ BEN HAGGARD & ZANDI HOLUP

JAMEY JOHNSON Eleven-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson is “one of the greatest country singers of our time,” according to the Washington Post. He is one of only a few people in the history of country music to win two Song of the Year Awards from both the CMA and ACMs. His 2008 album, That Lonesome Song, was certified platinum for 1 million in sales, and his 2010 ambitious double album, The Guitar Song, received a gold certification. In addition, he won two Song of the Year Trophies, for “Give It Away” and “In Color,” both from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. He has received tremendous praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal and other publications, many of which have hailed his albums as masterpieces. In 2012, the Alabama native released his fifth studio album, a tribute project to late songwriter Hank Cochran. The Grammy-nominated Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran paired him with Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Ray Price, Elvis Costello, George Strait, Vince Gill and Merle Haggard. In 2013, the Nashville Scene’s 13th annual Country Music Critics’ Poll named it the year’s best album. (Two years earlier, the same poll named Johnson’s The Guitar Song as the year's best album, and Johnson himself as best male vocalist, best songwriter and artist of the year.)

BEN HAGGARD

The brilliant Ben Haggard is a Country music singer/songwriter and guitarist, best known for being the son of Country music legend Merle Haggard, and for playing in his father’s band, The Strangers.

Ben is the youngest of the legendary Merle Haggard’s four sons. He began playing with his father’s band, The Strangers, when he was 15-years-old, and became their lead guitarist and performed with them for many years. He also formed his own career, and famously recorded a cover of Kris Kristofferson’s Help Me Make It Through The Night and posted the video to his YouTube account in 2013. The video received over 170,000 views. After his father’s death in 2016, he and his musician brother, Noel, continued to perform with The Strangers. His other two brothers, Marty, and Scott, are also professional musicians.

Haggard regularly connects with his hundreds of thousands of followers and fans through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and comments about his musical life. He also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Ben Haggard.

ZANDI HOLUP

Evocative artist-writer Zandi Holup is a wildflower: unique, free as the wind, and blossoming in Music City. Born in Pennsylvania, she drifted from city to city until she found her home in Nashville six years ago. Cut from the same cloth as legendary folk singer-songwriters like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell, Holup's raw brand of original folk country flourishes through raw unfiltered storytelling reminiscent of Dolly Parton and emphasized by her emotive vocals. A grassroots following placed her on the map as snippets of demos and unreleased songs resonated across social media in increasing numbers. Her first and only release to date, “Wait for You,” sat at No. 1 on the all-genre Spotify Fresh Finds playlist, amassing over a million streams with no promotion outside of her TikTok following. She has opened for the likes of Steve Earle, Amanda Shires, Ann Wilson of Heart, and more. Named a 2023 Artist to Watch by The Nashville Briefing, Holup signed a publishing deal with Arthouse Entertainment and TurnTable Music in partnership with Universal Music Publishing, and a record deal with Big Loud Records in 2023. Her first release on the label, “Gas Station Flowers,” arrives Oct. 6.
