Caffè Lena presents extraordinary music in an intimate setting steeped in history. It is widely recognized as the longest continuously operating folk music venue in the United States. The Library of Congress calls Caffè Lena “An American treasure,” and we have been recognized by The GRAMMY Foundation for our important contributions to the development of American music. Caffe Lena's programs are made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

<p>Hailed as “The new master of the slide guitar” by the Montreux Jazz Festival and “The real thang” by the legendary Bootsy Collins, Jack Broadbent has spent the the past few years wowing international audiences with his unique blend of virtuosic acoustic and slide guitar, and poignant folk and blues inspired vocals. The range of moods and styles on his new album, Moonshine Blue, prove that he’s more than a fretboard monster. From blues to jazz, from languid intimacy to swaggering cool, Broadbent is refined, sophisticated and effortless. </p><p>Before the show starting at 6pm there will be a podcast interview with Jack for Hangin&#x27; &amp; Sangin&#x27;, a podcast and radio show hosted by music journalist Kelly McCartney. Hangin’ &amp; Sangin’ offers up casual conversation and acoustic performances by some of your favorite roots artists, from Americana to folk, country, blues, bluegrass, Southern soul, and rock &amp; roll. Come hang with us before the show for an intimate interview that promises to give you a deeper look at both the humanity and artistry of our featured performers.</p>
