Doug Fir Lounge is an intimate Music Venue located underground below the full service Doug Fir Restaurant and Bar. We are just a few blocks east of the Burnside Bridge on the corner of 9th and East Burnside in Portland, Oregon.Beginning in 2024 all Doug Fir events will take place at our new location at 301 SE Morrison Street.

<h3><a href="https://jgraves.bandcamp.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">J. GRAVES</a></h3><p>J. Graves is passionate dance-punk. Tense relationship rock, sanguine lyricism, chord changes that sound like secret longing, a rhythm section that thuds, skitters, and melts over the determined voice of Jessa Graves. Songs are extensions of personal experience in which breakups, abandonment, unsupportive partners, and emotional strife see re-use as stepping stones, providing a path from disappointment to cathartic, regenerative music. Nothing is wasted in a live J. Graves performance. You must be in front of the liquid rhythm section and pounding chords of the band to feel the blast. Jessa rolls her eyes furiously and her jawline sets as she contacts the emotion that produced her songs. She contorts herself around a fender slimline telecaster, and, in fits and starts, springs forth with contagious, inspiring performances.</p>

<h3><a href="https://www.facebook.com/childspeak" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CHILDSPEAK</a></h3><p>Portland-based Childspeak was born in 2013, to a sleepy (stoned) and mysterious college town in the Pacific Northwest. When guitarist Bri and drummer TJ first met guitarist Michael, he was covered from head to toe in Adam’s Natural Peanut Butter. The pair never could have guessed where this new friendship would lead them, but priding themselves on lawlessness, the four peice became known for dueling guitars, obsessions with space, and a drummer that fucking hates his drums but fucking loves you. With the recent addition of Matt on bass, Childspeak keeps moving forward - but never straight. The band&#x27;s hyper-saturated blend of jazz, prog and math rock motifs are set to make your face tingle. Just a little. The band is currently recording a follow up to their last album Indulgent Endeavors, produced by Marcel Fernandez (Zeta, Molotov, Foo Fighters). Childspeak&#x27;s Junior release is slated for the Spring of 2022.</p>

<h3><a href="https://www.kingyoungblood.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KING YOUNGBLOOD</a> </h3><p>Alternative Press calls King Youngblood “Seattle’s Alt Rock Princes” - they sure got that right. Twenty-three-year-old founder and frontman Cameron Lavi-Jones, along with, drummer Alix Daniel, cellist Chet Peterson, and bassist Hamoon Milaninia have a singular mission: grab heavy guitar/drums rock by the collar and drag it into the willing arms of the fresh new generation of fans currently fueling the world-wide resurgence of rock music. The world agrees with affirming descriptions including AfroPunk Magazine in October 2021 declaring “King Youngblood’s skill at transforming a small phrase into a massive hook is at this point unparalleled in the world of heavy music.”</p>
