    Come learn how to make Italian Cookies from Daniela, Owner, Baked by D.

    Menu
    - Italian Butter Cookies
    - Lemon Ricotta Cookies
    - Pizzacati (Italian Pinched cookies)

    In the hands-on portion of the class you will learn how to make Italian Butter Cookies from scratch including

    • Making the batter
    • Piping out the cookies
    • Decorating with chocolate, fruit preserves and sprinkles

    You will then roll out dough, pipe out jelly and pinch the Pizzacati before we bake them.

    Daniela will also show you how to make Lemon Ricotta Cookie batter and you will learn how to make a perfect glaze to decorate these cookies with sprinkles - just like Nonna does it.

    Everyone will go home with a box of cookies made in class.

    All participants receive a Recipe Book via email after the class with the recipes from the class.

    Daniela is a 1st generation Italian American who moved to NC from Clearwater, Florida where she grew up in her family’s Italian market. That is where Daniela grew a love for baking, cooking and hospitality. She now owns her own businesses Ds Corner Kitchen, where she offers weekly meal prep services. She also owns Baked By D and loves keeping Italian traditions alive by offering classic Italian baked good. Having baked a long side her Italian mother for most of her life, she is excited to share everything she’s learned over the years with people who attend her Italian cookie classes.

    Where are classes held?

    Is it possible to make menu substitutions for allergies?

    We cannot accommodate food allergies in this class. Allergens used in the class: Dairy, Wheat, Eggs

    What is the minimum age for children to participate?

    Children 9 and up are welcome with an adult (all children must be registered for the class separately)

    What is the cancellation policy

    Classes are non-refundable; however if we can fill your spot from the waitlist we will issue a refund.

    Can I bring wine to drink?

    You may BYOB and drink during the pasta tasting at the end of the class. No drinking is allowed during the cooking making portion of the class.

    Where do I park?

    There is a large parking lot in the complex - you may park in any spot unless there is a sign indicating a reserved space. DO NOT PARK in reserved spaces. Please park perpendicular to the back building where Il Laboratorio is located.

    Il Laboratorio - The Cooking Lab by Melina's Fresh Pasta - opened in 2024. Due to high demand for Melina's Fresh Pasta owner, Carmella's, pasta making classes Il Laboratorio was created to offer a dedicated space centered on Pasta Making Classes and regional Italian cooking. While making pasta will still be Carmella's primary focus at Melina's - this new space will allow for more frequent classes to be scheduled. Classes will focus on pasta and sauces from all 20 regions of Italy plus some Italian-American classics. Come learn how to make pasta like a little Italian nonna.
