Kennedy received the Order of the Palmetto from SC Governor Nikki Haley. She was the first ever recipient of an Honorary Associate Degree in Humane Letters from Midlands Technical College. She was named Citizen of the Year by Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber, Lexington County Ambassador for Economic Development by SC Department of Commerce, Ambassador of the Year by Greater Columbia Chamber, and a recipient of the Inspiring Women Award from Coastal Carolina University. Most recently, Lou received the STEP Ahead Honoree Award from the National Association of Manufacturers.
